Our staff is dedicated to providing empathy and compassion as well as a high level of excellence in delivering cancer care. We are anchored by our commitment to serve, always mindful to treat others as we would want to be treated.

A Quick Review of Our Practice

Our oncology doctors, nurse practitioners, and oncology nurses received their training and degrees in medical universities and hospitals in the US such as the University of Rochester Medical Center, Dartmouth (NH) Medical School, University of Virginia, and Case Western Reserve University (Cleveland).

FLHO's medical staff continues to build their expertise through research, consultation with colleagues, teaching, and conferences. FLHO participates in clinical trials at Strong Memorial Hospital and the Southwest Oncology Group. FLHO's doctors also participate in monthly "tumor board" meetings in which patient information is reviewed with doctors from multiple disciplines.

FLHO's professional administrative staff is trained and experienced in managing the office side of our practice and our patients' medical billing needs.

FLHO's partnerships work to serve you. We work closely with the physicians at Finger Lakes Radiation Oncology Center, Clifton Springs Hospital and Clinic, the University of Rochester Medical Center, and other area hospitals to identify and coordinate services to best meet your needs. Through FLHO you may have access to clinical trials, diagnostic and support services as well as educational resources.

FLHO InsideFLHO accepts medical insurance from most of the area's insurance providers. Please contact our billing office with any questions you may have concerning your coverage.

FLHO Cancer & Blood Treatment Services

We focus on medical oncology, hematology, and cancer risk assessment services.

Medical oncology is the treatment of cancer and cancer-related problems using medications, including chemotherapy. We concentrate on three areas with our cancer patients:
  • Treating the existing cancer.
  • Watching for any spread of cancer.
  • Relieving symptoms.
Hematology is the diagnosis and treatment of problems related to blood such as anemia, myelodysplasic syndromes (MDS), and myeloproliferative disorders (MDP).

FLHO also offers cancer risk assessment. This program provides assessment, education and counseling to individuals who may be at a higher risk of developing certain cancers based on their personal and family histories.

How to Become an FLHO Cancer or Blood Care Patient

  • Cancer Care: FLHO accepts patients who have already received a confirmed diagnosis of cancer from their primary care physician or surgeon. Many times doctors will directly refer patients to FLHO. Just as frequently, patients who have been diagnosed decide to come to FLHO through word-of-mouth references from family members, friends, colleagues, fellow church or temple members, and others in the community.

  • Blood Disorder Treatment: FLHO accepts referrals from primary care physicians. Please contact us to learn more about our blood disorder treatments or to make an appointment at your convenience.

  • Cancer Risk Assessment Program: Please contact us to learn more about our genetic counseling program or to make an appointment at your convenience.
