A General Plan

A diagnosis of cancer can be frightening and overwhelming, but there is more help and information available today than ever before.

Here are a few steps that may help you organize your thoughts (with the help of your doctors and nurses):

Learn about the cancer you have been diagnosed with. The links in the Resources section of this site are a great place to start.

Understand your treatment options. Your doctor will explain options that apply to your particular circumstances.

Find and use support. Whether you team up with one other person or join a group, take advantage of online sources, or lean on family and friends. Support is a critical part of coping with cancer.
