Finger Lakes Hematology and Oncology supports our patients
by submitting and following up on claims to insurance
companies in order to receive payment for our services.
We accept medical insurance from most of the area's
insurance providers. Please contact
our billing office with any questions you may have
concerning your coverage, copays, and other financial
aspects of your care.
Help Us Help You
FLHO patients have found it helpful to know and understand
the following:
- Our billing department is a resource to all of our patients. Please feel free to contact us whenever you have a question, issue, problem, or concern.
- Our mission is to take care of the paperwork accurately and as quickly as possible and to keep you informed.
- We help you plan the financials associated with your care. There are copays associated with each doctor visit, chemotherapy drug, and nursing care. We tell you in advance what your specific insurance will or will not cover so that you can discuss options with your family and your physician.
- Always carry with you the most current version of your insurance card. That enables us to provide the fastest and most accurate information to you.
- Always let us know as soon as possible if you will be changing insurance companies or that your company has changed. Again, this helps us stay up to date on your behalf. Also, sometimes advance insurance authorization is needed to administer drugs, and keeping us informed insures your treatment is done on schedule.
- FLHO does not accept credit cards. Payment is accepted via cash, check, or money order.
The Intake Process
During your initial visit, you will be introduced to a
member of our billing department to acquaint you with
them and explain their services.
Our billing department reviews your insurance coverage
with you, outlines the copayments you are expected to
pay for each visit, and explains our billing process.
If you do not have medical insurance, we discuss the proposed
services and how you plan to meet the associated financial
obligation. Under certain circumstances, there are some
resources to help patients who have no insurance, and
our billing department can provide more information. |
